The views expressed are my own and random thoughts that came to me while sipping my afternoon cup of hot coffee! After reading the academic discourse on Feminism, I realized that to make someone understand what feminism is, one has to understand and try thinking what disturbs some people to use the word. There is a general apprehension and I feel it is high time we feminist accept it and try seeing where the problem really is. I have had heated debates with friends, trying to explain the difference between gender and sex, the use of ‘blue’ and ‘pink’, the care economy and with friends who otherwise in their actions are very gender equal but there is still some apprehension to use the word and lets agree, not everyone needs to understand the academic discourse to be a feminist. Faith creates love, And love creates peace, I was told as a kid But nothing about atrocities And that faith should not be named! Fighting, we fought a thousand lives, Churches are burnt, temples destroyed He ate the meat my mother denied And I am convinced, His God does not love mine. Kill him, throw ink on his face, For he ate the meat, my faith denies Now I shall laugh when he cries, And laugh loud when he dies. Faith creates no love And that love creates no peace His religion I am taught to hate, And he commits 'Jihad' In the name of his faith   In front of my newborn nephews and nieces We should be blamed and shamed Like that man from Bishara,they should not be gamed, They should not be taught to hate But silently told that faith should not be named!
